Rocksteady music was born in Jamaica in the early 60’s by bands like The Skatalites, The Wailers and The Maytals. It is considered a link between ska and reggae, with strong soul-music influences.
Donna and The Dynamiters was formed about 60 years later in the city of Tampere, Finland, Northern Europe. After finishing his previous ska-band “Union Street”, bass-player Pete Repo decided to start a new band with some old and new friends, musicians from local punk- & bigbands (Cadgers, Cretins, Milkmen, Torvikopla etc). The group wrote some new songs, found some cover tunes and put it all together for you to enjoy.
